Boston Body
Apparatus Training
A trainer leads a class of up to five participants in Pilates exercises on the Reformer, Chair or Tower Units. An excellent method for sculpting and toning the entire body. In this small class format students enjoy both the personal attention of the trainer and the camaraderie of the other students. More affordable than privates, these classes are very popular.
Cardio Core
This class will truly change your body. Emphasizes sculpting the "problem areas." Your buttocks will become much more lifted and toned; abdominals firmer & flatter; and every muscle will be toned and sculpted. During class you will be motivated to do all the exercise you would never do on your own and you will actually enjoy doing them!
Group Classes
Except where indicated, all Boston Body group classes at are taught multi-level.
Boston Body Yoga
This is appropriate for all levels, but beginners will find this especially satisfying. This class is a fusion of yoga styles. The class includes work on poses and deep stretching. Classes are mixed ability and students are encouraged to work at their own level.
Stretch "Yin" Yoga
This is appropriate for all levels. The class is based on Paul Grilley's Yin Yoga style which emphasizes holding stretch poses. This class will increase your flexibility and can be modified for most needs. Classes are mixed ability and students are encouraged to work at their own level.
Thai Massage
Our signature massage at Boston Body, it is frequently called "The Lazy Man's Yoga". It is probably one of the most innovative forms of healing body work practiced in the country, yet it is one of the oldest forms of developed medicine. Thai massage is performed on a floor mat, with the client dressed in comfortable, loose clothing. Sessions run from 60 – 90 minutes. This type of massage is excellent for working on flexibility and deep pressure work.
Acupuncture
Our Healing Arts program also includes acupuncture which involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into specific points on the body. There are as many as 2,000 acupuncture points on the human body, which are connected by 20 meridians (channels and collaterals). Most people experience a deep sense of serenity after each treatment. Our acupuncturist/herbalist, Vivian Ling, is a licensed practitioner from China. She apprenticed for many years with two of the top acupuncturist from China.
