Established in 1978, Bruce McCorry's Martial Arts Academy has the experience and what it takes to help one to further one's development of self-esteem, discipline, and confidence in oneself and in one's peers.
Our mission: To continue to promote the martial arts so they become just as popular as baseball, soccer and football. To educate the public as to the benefits of studying martial arts as a way of life, not just as a sport. To teach people of all ages how to become a success in life by using the values of martial arts through daily living.
Bruce McCorry's Martial Arts has brought nationally recognized AMP - After School Martial Arts Program - to Peabody, MA, and surrounding areas.
The Problem: Parents have long complained about bad habits their children are learning at day care, but they have had little choice.
The Solution: Now parents can send their children to the After School Martial Arts Program as an alternative to day care.
Martial arts training emphasizes descipline and self-control along with the physical activities which develop self-confidence and self-defense skills. The children's role models are the instructors and older, higher ranking students, so any peer pressure they encounter encourages them to behave better, not worse.
The AMP is a nationally recognized program designed by educators that incorporates character development exercises and fun activities as part of their martial arts curriculum. They also have a unique program to help bring the behaviors from the classroom into the home. After as little as one week in the program, parents begin to see positive chnages in their children.
One of the best aspects of AMP is that the transportation is provided from the academic school to the martial arts school; all for the same cost as a day care program. Parents conveniently pick up their children at the martial arts school after work, knowing that their children are safe.
The AMP represents a departure from traditional day care - instead of organized babysitting, it is a specified skill program that supplements the childAEs education with self-improvement lessons and activities. Children who participate in this program gain a distinct advantage over their friends who are not.
