Congregation Beth Israel Affiliated with United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Affiliated with The Synagogue Council of Massachusetts Congregation Beth Israel has an award winning three-days a week Hebrew School program that excels in Hebrew, Bible, Jewish History, and Ethics. With the inclusion of Religious School on Shabbat, students are able to learn the centrality of Shabbat to Jewish life and our community. As part of our community you will enrich your mind and spirit with our multi-thousand volume library, and a congregational life ranging from the lively to the positively festive. Participate in our Youth groups, Brotherhood, Sisterhood, Social Action committee, or one of several chavurot. Our Adult Education programs help members extend their understanding of Jewish traditions, thought, culture and history. We are "A Traditional, Egalitarian, and Fully Participatory Conservative Synagogue", Serving Central New England since 1924. Daily Minyan Congregation Beth Israel conducts morning and evening services 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Weekly Shabbat Services: Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat services and Saturday morning Shabbat worship are warm and well attended, offering Rabbi Pitkowsky’s thoughtful and interesting sermons, text study with the Rabbi and lay leaders, and inspirational davening led by Cantor Shemesh. Come to pray, to schmooze, to socialize with friends and family in our inviting intergenerational community. Adult education, including our regular class schedule, special programs, and scholar in residence visits, is the main avenue through which Congregation Beth Israel offers continuing education to its members and to the entire Central Massachusetts Jewish community. Our vision is to create opportunities through which all Jews can develop and strengthen their Jewish identity, their knowledge about Jewish history and ritual, and their relationship with God. Whether you are thinking about studying Judaism for the first time or continuing your Jewish studies, Beth Israel will enable you to learn at your own pace. The Adult Education program at Congregation Beth Israel offers the opportunity to learn with our very own Rabbi Joel Pitkowsky, Cantor Marina Shemesh, along with Scholars in Residence, and talented members of the Beth Israel community.
