Brewster Baptist Church What kind of church is Brewster Baptist? People often comment on the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We're American Baptists, and the church has been growing steadily for years now. As it says on the home page, we take the call of Jesus seriously. We exist to be an instrument of God’s Spirit, assisting children, youth and adults to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Who are the pastors? Our Senior Pastor is Rev. Dr. Doug Scalise, who began his ministry at Brewster Baptist Church on October 1, 1995. With a Doctor of Ministry degree in Preaching from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Doug's primary ministry interests are preaching, leadership, equipping people for ministry, spirituality, and church growth. Pastor Rev. Kevin Saxton began his ministry at Brewster Baptist Church on September 1, 2000. Kevin has a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and his primary ministry interests are working with students, developing leaders, discipleship, and using technology in ministry. Pastor Rev. Mary Scheer joined Brewster Baptist on September 1,2002. Mary earned her M. Div. in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary and came to Cape Cod from First Baptist Church in Marengo, Illinois. Her vision for ministry is "to help people grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, with an emphasis in Pastoral Care, including small group and family ministry programs." Worship services information Brewster Baptist holds two services each weekend, in two different "styles." Sunday, 8:30 - our "contemporary" service, with songs lead by our Praise and Worship Team. This service is regularly attended by about 230 people. Sunday, 11:00 - our "traditional" service, with the choir accompanied by the new organ. This service is regularly attended by about 250 people. Where is the church? On Main St. (Rte. 6A) in Brewster. Coming from Rte. 6, take exit 10 and go north (toward Brewster) until it dead-ends, then turn left onto Rte. 6A. The church is on the left. If you're coming from the west on 6A, the church is on the right, immediately after the Brewster Ladies Library.
