FACE Children's Center Our teachers are continuously involved in training workshops to keep them up to date with new and useful teaching techniques. Our Mission The mission of FACE Children's Center is to enhance and support children and their families by providing a wholesome and safe day care setting which offers a nurturing and stimulating environment. All parents can be assured that this educational program constatly strives for excellence, maintains high standards of care and employs a committed staff. Philosophy FACE Children's Center is dedicated to the optimal growth of each child by encouraging them to be themselves and respect the differences and needs of others regardless of race, national origin, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, marital status, sexual orientation, and disabilities. This is achieved through a non-judgmental, nurturing and supportive environment that fosters cultural diversity, social, artistic and academic potential. A sense of community, positive self-image and joy of learning is enhanced through a strong cooperation between parents, teachers, and administration. Emphasis is placed on giving each child a firm foundation in the learning process, where trying is a positive experience and decision making is encouraged. The end goal is that the philosophical basis translates into a happy confident child. Child Driven Curriculum The curriculum at FACE Children's Center is child driven. To decide on a theme to use in a classroom, the teachers do a variety of things. They observe the children at play to see where their interests lie. They interact with the children to prolong and extend the play and gain the interest level. And they listen to the children to learn of knowledge gained through the activity. We pledge to provide your child with a wonderful preschool experience from the beginning in our Time for Tots and Teddy Bear classes right through to our Chipmunk and Butterfly classes. Children are having fun while making new friends and learning Learn While You Play Learn while you play! Play is the natural language of the child. Show and Tell Days Everyday is a show & tell day at FACE. The teachers of each class create guidelines and suggestions for possible ideas. It is the forum for problem solving, discovery, and cognitive and emotional development. Special Events Each year different special events are planned and are held during the school day. Classes FACE Children's Center has three classes for the different age groups of the children at the center. We also offer a Time for Tots program for children not yet old enough to enter school, or not ready for a full day at school. Time for Tots Teddybear Class Chipmunk Class Butterfly Class
