The Lydian Center for Innovative Medicine operates on the interface of cutting-edge health care, human development and education. Serving all ages, with a special emphasis on children, families, and performing artists, we offer a wide range of modalities all under one roof. Practitioners run their own practices in beautifully appointed offices, and provide an in-house referral network for clients who request an integrated approach. Whether you are interested a single homeopathy visit or a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach, we're prepared to accommodate your needs. And, with careful scheduling, we can treat several members of the same family - all on the same trip!
Our Center is located on the edge of the Fresh Pond Reservation and our offices are bright and sunny, with spectacular views of sugar maples and oaks, the pond, and the activity of birds and squirrels! These unexpected views of nature are one of our most treasured features. In designing our offices, we strove to bring those refreshing natural colors inside. Painted in golds, greens and blues, and trimmed with red oak, many clients comment on the restful energy of our Center.
In addition to clinicians in private practice, the Center offers classes, group sessions and informational meetings in a multimedia classroom.
Children
Most of us think we have a brain so we can think. But actually we have a brain so we can move. The complex and crucial relationship between movement, vision, language, emotions, memory and other "higher" brain functions such as learning has only recently begun to be fully investigated.
Early intervention can save a life-time of difficulties for the child, and wear and tear on the whole family system. It is never too late to change the course of a child’s inadequate development, whether physical or emotional. The earlier the intervention, the better the outcome, but the brain remains remarkably adaptable throughout childhood. If you are concerned about even subtle difficulties your child is experiencing we may be able to offer a surprisingly simple solution.
Performers
TLC is a place for performing artists to get the unique help they need. Three of our practitioners are musicians with years of performing experience and we understand well the high stakes, high stress, high rate of injury life style of the professional performer. The physical body of a performer is the artist's paintbrush, the actual instrument of expression. Whether you are a dancer, actor, singer or violinist, the body and creative spirit are an integrated system. The more tuned the instrument, efficient and free, the larger the stage for artistic expression.
