Gary's significant experience in domestic relations coupled with his training in alternative dispute resolution resulted in the launching of his divorce mediation practice in 1994. Gary finds the process of both parties working together productively to create an agreement that is in the best interests of each party and the child(ren) to be tremendously rewarding. Mediation can save thousands of dollars in attorney fees, expedite the divorce process which can be lengthy and harrowing, and foster feelings of good will and cooperation rather than antagonism which adversarial proceedings breed.
As a result of Gary's reputation in the field of domestic relations, he is frequently appointed by the Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts to investigate contentious custody, visitation and state removal issues. The investigatory skills he has developed increased his effectiveness when representing his own clients. Gary is also appointed to investigate estate and trustee accounts to ensure that fiduciaries have not acted inappropriately in their management of funds.
