Visiting Nurse Assistance of Cape Cod
Providing care throughout Cape Cod for more than 90 years, the VNA of Cape Cod is committed to the health and wellness of the communities we serve. In keeping with our mission, we are continuously expanding the scope of our services and raising the quality of care we provide. Mission To coordinate and deliver the highest quality, accessible health services which enhance the health of all Cape Cod residents and visitors. Vision We aspire to be the leader in the provision of innovative community health care services and education for residents and visitors of the communities we serve, offering quality care to all those in need, regardless of ability to pay. Established in 1916, the VNA of Cape Cod is one of the oldest not-for-profit organizations on the Cape. Now an affiliate of Cape Cod Healthcare, the VNA provides an array of health services from skilled nursing and therapies in the home to community health programs. Changes in the health care environment such as earlier hospital discharges have lead to an increasing need for the services of the VNA. To meet these challenges, we have grown to more than 850 employees, providing more than 300,000 home visits annually. Most of our services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. The VNA of Cape Cod is accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, is Medicare/Medicaid certified, and accepts most private insurance. Our staff is dedicated to meeting the needs of physicians, healthcare professionals and – most importantly – patients. The VNA of Cape Cod is a member of the Cape & Islands Association of Community Health Agencies, Home & Health Care Association of Massachusetts, Visiting Nurse Association of New England, Inc., and the National Association of Home Care. Our Services Whether visiting patients recovering from surgery or dealing with a terminal illness, VNA professionals have earned a reputation for their caring attitude, skills and professionalism. Our skilled services offer a wide range of care options that allow patients to recover where they feel most comfortable – in their own home. The increased complexity of patient needs upon discharge from the hospital has required VNA staff to be skilled in complicated, high-tech care. Specially trained teams offer intravenous therapy, wound care, ostomy care, pain management, HIV/AIDS care, oncology, palliative and hospice care, mental health assessments and maternal and child health.
The goal of every VNA intervention is to assist patients in achieving their maximum independence and health status while remaining in their own home.
