Applied Communications offers diversified sales and service in the wireless communications industry. We have an emphasis on engineered solutions from in building coverage solutions to wide area dispatch with voice, mobile data, and digital surveillance recording.Interoperability, in-building coverage, GPS, mobile data and digital surveillance systems are a few of the latest technology services we have integrated for customers.
Applied Communications is the second generation of a family owned business that has provided wireless communications since 1954. In the 1980Òs we were the largest General Electric two-way radio dealer in the Northeast and in 1988 and 1989, the second largest G E dealer in the United States. Much of our success during the 1980Òs was attributable to our owning and operating the largest privately held Special Mobile Relay (SMR) System in New England. The system we constructed in the mid 1980Òs brought us customers such as Airborne Express who began their SMR service as our national account. In 1990, the company which would become Nextel, purchased our SMR system and integrated it with their emerging nationwide system.
Having sold the SMR system, Applied Communications incorporated as a separate company and expanded its efforts in the cellular industry in September of 1990. Through the 1990Òs Applied Communications opened in the Western Massachusetts and Connecticut markets as well as the Washington-Baltimore market. In addition to our Northboro, MA location, we maintain sales operations in Virginia.
Applied Communications is a certified TVSS distributor with factory trained service personnel. We have been providing industrial and commercial mobile camera installation and maintenance since 2001. Applied currently provides service for several fleets with video monitoring.
