Robert Mason is a veteran of the high-technology industry, with over 25 years of experience in the design of electronic systems and circuits. He received his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering (BSEE) from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1979. He did graduate work at MIT and Northeastern University in Boston, and received his Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from Northeastern University in 1987.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in the design of many types of leading-edge electronic systems for both commercial and military applications. While at Raytheon he worked on a wide range of advanced integrated circuits which were used in missile guidance systems, military radar, ground and satellite communications systems and a variety of other applications. Over the past decade, much of this technology has become commercialized and is now found in consumer electronics devices such as cell phones, satellite TV systems, wireless networks and personal computers.
