Creative Audio Works provides audio transfers and restoration of records (16, 33.3, 45 and 78 rpm), tapes (micro cassette, cassette, DAT, 1/4 track and 2 track 1/4”reel-to-reel), as well as wire recordings. All processing is with 24-bit 192Khz precision using Genelic monitors, MOTU converters and dedicated software programs produced for CD mastering. Noises such as crackles, ticks, pops and electrical hum can be reduced or removed in the digital domain. The finished product is then burned onto a Compact Disc or DVD for worry-free listening and archival. |

Creative Audio Works With over 25 years of industry experience in audio recording for film and video, we now provide audio restoration and archival services for professional as well as consumer markets.
For the last 100 years there have been many forms of audio storage: disk, wire, vinyl, DAT, to name a few. These formats have allowed many to save moments in our history and personal lives. It has been a popular belief that analog audio was permanent. This in fact, did not turn out to be true.
However with state of the art software and hardware now available, we are able to transfer media from obsolete formats onto modern permanent formats, such as CD, DVD-V or DVD-A. In addition, we now have the technology to restore old recordings by removing unwanted noise such as clicks, pops, hum and tape hiss.
Restoration Pricing
All archival transfers and restoration are performed on an hourly basis at $50 per hour for the first hour and billed in 1/4-hour increments thereafter. We do not charge a per piece rate for restoration. Creative Audio Works takes a disciplined approach tailored to each recording and charging a fixed rate for this restoration service would be a compromise.
Archival
Cassettes, reel-to-reel tape and wire reel transfers are billed at $50.00 per hour
Transfers of Records -- Album Cover Art: Jewel case inserts with front cover of the album, printed in high resolution are included.
The first CD burning is included in the above fees. Additional CDрs are available at extra cost, at the per hour rate.
DVD-Aрs are available on request. Please call for details.
Cassette repair or repackaging is provided at $50 per hour in 1/4-hour increments.
Evaluations
We urge you to call and talk to us about your audio needs. We can usually provide a good faith estimate over the phone. For a more accurate estimate, you may arrange to send your audio recordings to Creative Audio Works for evaluation. A fee of $15 is required. This fee is applied to your transfer and restoration work. If you decide not to use our services, the fee is used to cover the cost to return your items
