Yoga On North A Community Yoga Center At Yoga On North we are comitted to offering exceptional quality yoga instruction for all ages and levels of experience. Please come and visit us at our beautiful upper North Street studio. Yoga Offerings The science of yoga is a rich and ancient tradition designed to help practitioners experience an energetic, fruitful life. At Yoga On North you’ll receive outstanding training in asana, pranayama, mudra, meditation, anatomy, and much more. Our teaching approach reflects the eclecticism of the yogic path, drawing on a variety of Hatha Yoga influences: Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kripalu, Kundalini, Viniyoga and others. We offer vinyasa (flow) style classes, posture clinics, pranayama instruction, and various workshops. Our focus is on the deeper practice of yoga: cultivation of equaninimity through movement, breath and concentrated awareness. Massage Structural Bodywork, Thai Massage and Structural footwork at Yoga On North are provided by licensed massage therapist Christopher Holmes. Chris has been practicing and teaching bodywork since 1999, and has honed his skills studying with masters from the United States and Thailand. Structural Bodywork is a deeply therapeutic form of massage focused on relaxing tissues and restoring your body to optimal alignment. Chris specializes in treatment-resistant musculoskeletal injuries and systemic ailments. He has worked successfully with feet, ankle, knee and hip injuries; digestive problems; spinal disc injuries; scoliosis; slumping posture, frozen shoulder, recurring headaches, etc. This work promotes the healing of acute and chronic pain, relieves stress, improves circulation, and addresses structural and postural misalignments. Thai Massage is a deeply relaxing and transformative approach to bodywork. Relax and let go as you are moved through a flowing series of postures, softening tense muscles, mobilizing joint restrictions, and freeing blocked energy. Enhance athletic performance, support the healing of acute injuries and chronic pain, relieve stress, and address structural and postural misalignments. Suitable for all body types, ages, levels of fitness, and many injuries. Structural Footwork at Yoga On North is designed to tonify and rejuvenate the feet. A considerable amount of lifestyle stress is placed on our feet, leading to soreness, plantar fascitis, bunions, hammer toes, falling arches, etc. If you've had little success with other approaches, or are looking for ways to improve the health of your feet, consider a treatment.
