Formed in 1987, our club is based out of the Northstar Youth Forum in Westborough, Massachusetts. We offer sessions for beginners through Senior level skaters. Recent expansion of our facility allows us to offer off ice classes (including pilates and ballet), US Skate with US accelerated basic skills bridge classes (Shining Stars of North Star), regularly scheduled test sessions, BS Freestyle Sessions, US Moves-In-the-Field and Freestyle sessions, power classes and edge classes. We have a full ice harness as well as a pro-motion hand held jumping harness. |

North Star Figure Skating Club Our facility has two off ice rooms, a large meeting/conference room and a viewing area. Our conference room is the place where our Annual Banquet takes place, our competition results are posted and awards ceremonies are held, our coaches hold their meetings and where many new and exciting events will be held. “Skate Works”, owned and operated by Sergey Meller, is new to our facility. It sells skates for all levels, skating attire, tights, etc., as well as providing professional figure skate sharpening. Year round figure skating is now available at our rink at a minimum of 5 days per week to a maximum of 6 days. We offer open skating several mornings per week (except during the months of July and August) for the public to attend. In addition, we have morning, afternoon and evening tot thru adult classes. Guest Professionals are welcome as well as skaters from other USFS/ISI clubs. Please refer to “coaches” or “membership” for more information. Off Ice Classes Off-ice classes offered Monday - Thursday for Basic Skill through Senior level skaters. Check application for times and levels. NEW, HUGE and FULLY EQUIPPED off-ice room has just been finished!!! About our Learn-To-Skate Program.... Learn the Basics of ice skating from our qualified team of professionals. We have daytime and nighttime classes for ages 3 and up and adults Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Wednesday and Thursday classes held year-round. All classes are 25 minutes long and are followed by a free skate practice time. Tots ages 3-5: Daytime tot classes Tuesday and Wednesday 10:15am or 1:15pm class. Class is 25 minutes long followed by 20 minute free skate time. Parents can skate with kids during free skate time. Ages 4 & up: Nighttime and weekend classes for ages 4 and up. Classes on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday consist of a 25 minute lesson and a 25 minute free skate. Wednesday and Thursday at 6:10pm and Saturday at 12:00pm. Adults: Adult Learn-To-Skate classes on Wednesday nights, Thursday nights, and Saturday afternoons. Special package class on Thursday mornings consists of 45 minute off-ice stretch class and a 45 minute skating class. Advanced Basic Skills Program: The “Shining Stars” advanced Basic Skills program is a 2-day a week program designed to develop strong fundamental elements of figure skating that are found in Moves in the Field, freeskating, ice dancing and synchronized team skating. From this base, skaters can progress to more competitive skating or continue at their own pace developing their skating skills. Skating curriculum includes off-ice stretching, warm-up, cool down routines, stroking and crossover drills, introductory moves in the field, spins, and jumps. This program is for skaters Basic 4 – 7. Classes on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 5:10pm.
