Looking for a Revere Taxi? This website is run by 2 long time Revere Taxi drivers. All content on this page is purely the opinion of these drivers and not to be taken literally. Seriously we are not kidding. If you take what we say seriously about the Revere Taxi business you may actually be dumber than we are.
The main author of this site first began driving a taxi on 2/2/2000 . The first night I ever drove a taxi the owner of the cab company at the time asked me “have you ever driven before? Do you want someone to show you how to work the meter and radio” I readily agreed and the owner called over long time Revere driver “Billy Banks”. Billy showed me how to operate the meter and the radio then asked if I wanted some advice before starting my taxi career. I said I would love some and he bestowed the following words of wisdom upon me.
1) Don’t do it. Don’t even work one night. If you do ten years will go by faster then you will believe and when that ten years ends you will hate yourself. Leave now and never drive a taxi. Go get a job at the post office.
2) Never put the car in drive unless you know exactly where the customer wants to go and exactly how they want to get there.
3) Never take a drunk woman who is riding by herself. You will regret it.
4) Never be afraid to ask a customer for the “money up front”. These are the last 3 words in the taxi bible.
If they don’t want to give it up front or are offended and get out, they weren’t going to pay you anyway. After explaining all this and leaving my head spinning Billy locked the keys in the car and my taxi driving career had to wait another 30 minutes for someone to come with a slim jim. The entire time I stood waiting not being able to decide if I should bolt or not. Unfortunately I stayed that decade to find out that “billy banks” was 100% right about the Revere Taxi business.
