We are proudly serving Boston, Newton, Needham, Brookline, Newton, Lexington, Concord, Waltham, Watertown, Allston and any more towns and cities in the Boston area

Our dental office is devoted exclusively to caring for patients with malocclusion [crooked teeth] and the impact it has on the appearance of the face and the function of the bite.
Dr. Brian Miller, Orthodontist, is a specialist whose practice is limited to orthodontics.
He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists and he brings over twenty years of experience in Newton and the Concord area to his patients.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign® is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces.
Invisalign® uses a series of clear removable aligners (pictured to the left) to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets.
Invisalign® has been proven effective in clinical research and in orthodontic practices nationwide. In fact, over 70% of all U.S. orthodontists are certified to treat patients with Invisalign®.
How Does Invisalign® Work?
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position your orthodontist or dentist has prescribed.
You'll visit your orthodontist or dentist about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

Am I too old for orthodontics?
There is no age limit for orthodontics. Teeth and tissue are essentially the same in both adults and children. Orthodontists can successfully realign crooked teeth or a protruding overbite regardless of your age.
Will it hurt?
Discomfort has to result when we loosen a tooth for movement. This usually lasts about 48 to 72 hours and then the teeth are comfortable again. Each succeeding adjustment will means some minor discomfort, although our adult patients report a reduction in pain as the treatment progresses.
Why should I be concerned about my child's bite?
A bad bite can be detrimental to the future of your child's mouth. Restorations, crowns or bridges are often impossible for a dentist to perform without prior repositioning of the teeth by an orthodontist. Properly aligned and supported teeth are healthier, easier to clean and therefore more likely to last throughout a patient's lifetime.
At what age should my child see an orthodontist?
Most authorities agree that six or seven is a good age for your child's first orthodontic examination. Conditions may be found that can be corrected at their early age by interceptive measures. This often will lessen or eliminate the need for help at an older age. That in turn can be a savings in the total cost of your child's orthodontic correction.
How do orthodontists straighten teeth?
Tooth movement is actually a normal response to light pressure. Pressure is applied by using a variety of orthodontic appliances, the most common being a brace or bracket attached to the teeth and connected by an archwire. Periodic changing of these archwires puts pressure on the teeth. At different stages of treatment your child may wear a headgear, elastics, a positioner or a retainer
What about extra-curricular activities?
We heartily encourage your child to pursue extra-curricular interests. Athletics can be a regular part of this routine. Speech may at first be somewhat affected, but only for a day or two. So we tell our patients that orthodontics is a normal part of this phase in their lives and that treatment should not preclude any activities they usually pursue within their school's programs.

 *** 5 Reviews for Brian H. Miller, D.D.S.
Bad 02/25/2011  Unhappy Client    Stoughton, Massachusetts
So basically, Dr. Miller's office should be shut down for poor practices. He told me I would get my braces off in two years, that was FOUR years ago. Now, every appointment feels like a backtrack AKA, a new way to get my money. He always finds some obstacle that will stop me from getting the braces off, and every visit that should last an hour, last ten minutes. The staff is also quite rude. Most of the time, the Miller never checks his patients, and he always inconviently on vacation!! Most of my appointments, I leave with something breaking or loosen as soon as I leave the door. Today I got bands, the band came off barely four hours after seeing him, and I haven't eaten ANYTHING! I do NOT reccomend his services, it is truly a waste of money and time.

Bad 06/02/2010  Anonymous ( because I have no choice but to continue care with Brian Miller)    Leominster, Massachusetts
I must admit im furious with the treatment my son is receiving from this office. Two young females (not orthodontist) have from the start put my son's braces on. I keep thinking everytime I go in that I will see the actual Orthodontist, however we do not. These girls I assure you have no degree and yet they are working on all the patients. Also, mind you that they have two children at a time in a chair in the same small 9'x10 room. No privacy and very unsanitary. I watched as one of the girls (assistants) went from one patients mouth to another to help with another patient. I have started with the initial braces in February and still as of today 6/2 have yet to have the brackets/wires put in. However the bottom wires are in, but have broken on both sides. I called the office and was told to wait until his next appointment which is a month from the time they broke. I was told that Dr. Miller "does not consider this an emergency". I have never nor has anyone that I know experienced this. If there is a problem it should be taken care of immediately not a month later. They are sloppy and can care less because my insurance has already paid for my sons braces. No other Orthodontist would like to take him on because they will only be getting paid for the up keeping from this point out. I caution anyone to really observe this establishment before you get stuck!

Excellent 06/14/2010  Cindy-- dental assistant    leominster,ma, Massachusetts
WOW-- I just read a not so nice review on my children's orthodontist- Dr. Brian Miller. I am a dental assistant in Leominster, have three children, two have had braces put on by Dr. Miller. My third child is ready for braces and wanted to know what to expect--that is how I ended up on this website. I am on state assitance due to being a single parent of three Dr. Miller has been the only orthodontist in my area for many years that would accept my insurance, which is Mass Health. Dr. Miller and his staff have always been kind, considerate and very professional. Working in the dental field, I have always chatted with his assistants -- most of his assistants that I have met, are dentists and trying to get into dental school to become orthodontists. That being said, his assistants are not only doctors but will be going to school another 4-5 years. I have no reservations taking my youngest child to Dr. Miller for his braces.

Originally told me my treatment would take 1 1/2 years, which he later denied, I was with him for more than 4 before I left and got a new ortho. Rarely followed up with plans made in previous appointments, he made my front teeth significantly crooked for four years which my new ortho fixed in 2 months, and closed spacing that Miller had been fiddling with without results for a year. Out of date equipment. Sent me to an orthodontic surgeon twice saying I was ready for surgery and was denied TWICE. He failed to follow up with the surgeon on a regular basis. Best choice I could have made to find a new ortho, never looking back.
