Russian Steam Bath and Spa
You can have a steam bath at our facility. We have both a dry sauna or dry heat sauna and a wet sauna. The difference between the two is that the drier sauna is hotter with less humidity than a wetter sauna, which has a cooler temperature, but more humidity.
We offer the Finnish sauna, the Russian sauna and the Turkish sauna. There are differences between these saunas. The Finnish saunas are drier than the Russian saunas, and the Turkish saunas are wetter than the Russian ones. The Russian Banya is in between these two, but the choice is left up to the client. The Russian sauna is also called the Shvitz.
You can relax in the Jacuzzi alone or with friends. There is a swimming pool available as well as massage services. We have a snack bar where you can enjoy Russian food and even karaoke for a sing-along. These amenities add enjoyment to the atmosphere.
The massage service at Russian Banya brings together techniques of sports massage and therapeutic massage. It can be for a person with an injury, an illness or someone that just wants to be healthy.
Another service is the Branches Treatment (plaitza), a massage where oak leaves are used on a client’s body to “beat out” toxins and remove dead skin, sometimes known as Jewish acupuncture. Plaitza is a Yiddish word for back or shoulder. The client has both his backside and front side done with the oak leaves. The oak leaf broom is called a besom, which is made of 120 oak leaf twigs with each twig containing 2 or 3 oak leaves.
