Alta Strada is casual and approachable enough that everyone could eat there once a week or more. Plus, there’s a fantastic market on the lower lever so that guests can also bring Alta Strada home with them and enjoy it there as well.
Cuisine
Whether nibbling on small plates at the antipasti-wine bar, sipping an espresso, or having a meal in the open dining room, Alta Strada is approachable and accessible to anyone and everyone. Alta Strada focuses on the foods of Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont, and the Amalfi coast, while attempting to fill the much needed gap in Italian restaurants in America. Alta Strada is the place where you’ll find a perfectly made bowl of pasta, crispy thin pizza, gorgeous and abundant antipasti, and fantastic wines, all at a reasonable price, in a setting that could be found on a stylish via in Milan or Rome.
Wines
So many of us love wine, but let’s be honest, we can get a little intimated by all the info and those hard to say names. Who can really remember if it was ’82 or ’83 that was a great year? If we can’t pronounce it, then we ain’t gonna order it, are we?
At Alta Strada, we’ve made it as easy as possible. No fancy wine glasses, a simple but comprehensive wine by the glass program, and a small, well selected wine list of all Italian wines, that changes slightly with each lunar eclipse. It goes with our food, it jives with the space and the atmosphere…it makes sense and it is fun.
The wine list is like everything else at Alta Strada…it’s simple, it’s approachable, and no one will ever make you feel bad if you can’t say Rosso di Montalcino.
Lunch
Sure, we all wish we could be dining al fresco in sunny Positano, sipping delicious, cold white wine, sitting under an umbrella, staring at the water. Just because we’re in Wellesley MA today, lunch needn't be a struggle. No, in fact it should be enjoyable, relaxing…even if you only have 30 minutes to eat and run. Alta Strada knows that you need flexibility when comes to lunch; whether it’s a leisurely lunch
with the girls, an important business meeting, or just grabbing a quick bite at the “eating counter”, Alta Strada is your lunch place.
Dinner
Alta Strada is your restaurant, so you get to decide……is tonight the night you come for an early dinner with the whole family? Get together with friends you’ve wanted to see for ages? Or is tonight “just the two of you”? Are you going to try to have a little alone time and linger over a nice meal and an excellent
bottle of wine? It’s your choice, and Alta Strada promises to make sure you have a fantastic dinner, no matter what’s on the card for tonight.

Come taste the fresh, delicious food prepared every day at the market. You can even take the credit for it; we won’t tell, promise. Just be warned, somebody might ask you for the recipe!
Our antipasti items are made fresh daily and are best served at room temperature or slightly cool. New items are regularly added to our market and they do not appear on this menu. We make every effort to support our local organic farmers and food artisans.
