History…
In the winter of 2001, Joe Lelli and Mark Ryberg, friends for over 30 years, began tossing around ideas about possibly opening a restaurant on Cape Cod. Joe had hopes for an Italian food restaurant and Mark wanted to open an ice cream and coffee place, so they decided to fuse the two styles together to bring the best of the entree and the dessert to their customers, all under one roof. Now they just needed to find a place… As luck would have it, in the spring of 2002, a prime restaurant location and the site Joe had always dreamed of, became available for lease. It seemed too good to be true but within weeks of coming up with the idea, talks turned to serious planning, and Joe and Mark were going to be business partners!
Both Mark and Joe brought unique talents to the table. By combining Mark’s enthusiasm and business mindedness with Joe’s creativity and years of experience in an Italian kitchen; the restaurant was ready to open its doors for business in just a few short months, with Joe running the pizza restaurant side of the business and Mark handling the ice cream and customer service. Once open, the work began to build the business. After many long hours and hard work, Joe and Mark, felt their efforts were worthwhile and the future looked bright.
About a year after opening for business, Mark and his wife made plans to move to Florida. So, the decision was made for Joe to continue on and Atlantic Beach Pizza became a family-run business.
So as friends said goodbye- Joe and his family moved ahead with a new vision of what Atlantic Beach would become. With a helpful family and a dedicated staff, Joe continued to build the business
We work hard to produce quality food and though we are primarily a take-out format, our product is restaurant quality Gourmet Italian. Our food may come to you fast, but it sure is not fast food! We have been working hard all day to bring you the unsurpassed quality and taste that Atlantic Beach strives to deliver.
In addition to traditional pizza and subs, we also feature a delectable calzone menu. Each calzone is made in the traditional Italian “ Stromboli” style, rolled up like a jelly roll and filled with the freshest ingredients. Many of the menu items are modified versions of traditional Italian recipes taught to Joe by his mother, Caroline, whose family is from Filicudi, an island off the coast of Sicily. With those recipes and many others from his Italian father, Joe Sr. from Bolonga, Italy, Joe Jr. is armed with an arsenal of tasty traditional dishes.
