Pine Island Music
Not your ordinary music school!
First opened in 1978 as a commercial production house, Pine Island Music offers the most current digital production technology on the market today. Pine Island Music is owned and operated by E.J. Ouellette in Byfield, MA.
Pine Island offers group workshops called "Jamshops"TM as well as artist development and recording/production services.
Home of the popular "Summer Jam"TM program for kids and teens, Pine Island Music specializes in musical development for beginners to professionals. It is the home of several adult rock groups, teen bands, fiddle ensembles and the fiddle-rock jam band, "EJ Ouellette & Crazy Maggy".
Our Mission
Pine Island is dedicated to advancing learning techniques and passing that experience on to our students, giving them powerful learning skills to develop their musical talent.
Instruction at Pine Island Music
We offer instruction on the following instruments: guitar, violin and fiddle, drums and percussion, piano and keyboards, bass, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, dobro (steel guitar), harmonica, dulcimer and more.
Pro Tools Recording Studio
The analog recording studio at Pine Island Music Resource was replaced in 2002 with a new state-of-the-art, computer-based digital audio production system. We installed a Digidesign Pro Tools®|HD system, and we're producing some amazing recordings.
Pro Tools®|HD represents the latest and most advanced development yet in digital audio workstation technology. This high definition system embodies the latest Digidesign innovations, incorporating cutting-edge technology to deliver unprecedented sonic fidelity.
We also offer instruction in voice, ear training, audio engineering, production and composition.
The Music Kids Pre-School Program
Our program was designed to explore music in a playful and cheerful environment through song, storytelling and movement. We wish to enlighten, encourage and inspire your children by guiding them through their own musical experiences and awareness, while at the same time, offering a creative and fun environment.
