Vicki Citron Music Studio Laying the foundation for a life-long love of music I founded the Vicki Citron Music Studio in 1988 to create a learning environment where students could develop a passion for music, and experience the joy of making music with others. Project areas include: -Music listening area -Computer workstation for theory and composition -CD and book lending library Past workshops have included: -Avant garde pianist Kathleen Supové -Jazz saxophonist Stan Strickland -The Boston Composers String Quartet -Jazz violinist Matt Glaser -Violin maker Robert Childs About Vicki Citron Prior to founding the Vicki Citron Music Studio in 1988, Ms. Citron taught for fifteen years in community music schools and public school systems in the Boston area. Performing credits include chamber music as a member of the University of Massachusetts, Lowell graduate string quartet, & opera in Lucca, Torre del Lago, and Spoleto, Italy. Ms. Citron has given solo recitals in the Boston area and at the Smithsonian Institution. Ms. Citron believes that teaching benefits from the thoughtful questioning and analysis of research, and has presented papers on computer assisted composition by young music students at professional conferences. She is a contributor to journals and magazines for string players and music teachers. Ms. Citron received her BA in music from Brandeis University and her MM in music performance from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. She studied violin with George Neikrug, a student of D. C. Dounis. She has taught Suzuki violin since 1982. My Program The calendar year is organized into two semesters.
