Mass Motion Dance Academy
The Academy Our faculty is committed to our tradition of insuring quality professional dance training in a positive learning environment. Mass Motion Dance Academy offers quality dance training to students of all ages and abilities. The Programs emphasize technique, pedagogy and performance. Individualized attention and limited class size in a professional and friendly environment to ensure maximum student development. The children's program begins at age 2 and continues through age 18. In Boston the adult program offers a flexible schedule of classes designed for the college student and working adult, seven days a week! The Dance Project The Mass Motion Dance Project is a community service student group, dedicated to presenting the art of dance in a wide variety of local venues. Through the project, students are given the opportunity to take dance outside of the classroom and volunteer their services by performing or teaching. Class Descriptions Mommy & ME This inter-active creative movement class is designed to allow parents to assist the very youngest movers through their first dance class experience! This dance class incorporates basic coordination exercises, pre-ballet, music appreciation and flexibilty exercises. Level Program Our Level Program is designed to introduce and develop formal dance training to students from age 5 through age 9. Level classes consist of one half hour of ballet followed by a half hour of jazz, tap or both. All students are required to take ballet. Jazz or tap or both jazz and tap are added to ensure a well-rounded preparatory dance education. Children's Intensive Programs Designed to develop the skills of the serious dance students ages 9 - 12 when dance is the primary activity. Petite Program and Junior Program Students attend dance classes on two days per week. Classes include classical ballet, jazz, modern & tap. Additional performing opportunities are available. Senior Intensive Our senior program is a broad program designed to ensure a well rounded dance education for the high school student. Beginning with a strong foundation in classical ballet, the senior intensive program includes pointe, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip hop/street jazz and tap. A wide range of performance opportunities are available, with an emphasis placed on community service events and the opportunity to be involved in "The Dance Project". Teen Program The Teen Program offers hourly classes in classical ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. The teen program is offered for students of all levels and abilities, no prior dance training is required. This program is offered for teen students who are not involved in intensive programs.
