The Dance Center gives its students the chance to receive the approval of someone other than their family and friends - we have a very supportive staff and we create many social situations in which our dancers can participate. Our goal is not only to teach them to dance, but to play a strong and positive role in their development. |

Paula Coffey Dance Center
Our desire is to bring young dancers together to share the rewards of poise, self confidence, friendship and of course, The Love of Dance! Being a part of weekly classes, recitals, parades and other performances give each student a unique advantage. They are able to walk into may of life's experiences prepared to present themselves in a favorable light... after already knowing the acceptance of a public audience. Having once heard the applause for one's efforts provides the groundwork on which self confidence is built. It is these early experiences that can have a positive effect on later developments! We accept the responsibility and will try very hard to make "dancing school" a wonder experience for you and your family! The entire program at the Dance center is under the direction of Paula Coffey, who has taught dance for 45+ years. Paula is a member of the Professional Dance Teachers Association; a board member of Dance Enterprises of New England; former President of the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists; former member of both the state and local Arts Council; Director of "Capeway Danscamp" - a resident dance program at Bridgewater State College; Chairman of the local Junior Miss Scholarship Program; director and performer for many local musical shows; graduate of John Robert Powers School; participant in Dance Olympus, Dance Caravan and Northeast Dance Workshop; a member of the East Bridgewater Business Association; member of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce; recent participant in the Broadway Experience at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Paula has been featured in the National dance magazine "Dance Teacher Today" and in the Enterprise in their "Women in Business" section. The Dance Center was chosen as the Readers Choice #1 Dance School in the Metro South Region five years in a row! Each week we get a chance to visit with your children - most of them dancing, but many siblings also come on a weekly basis to wait in the front hall or to observe class. I meet the dads, many grandparents, and special visitors. Dancewear: Tiny Tots: All tiny tots may wear their choice of leotards and tights. All school age dancers are asked to wear our new "Dance Uniform" which consists of black jazz pants and our fitted dance tee. School Jackets: Jackets for personal wear or for the parade unit are always available. Jackets are available in purple fleece. All jackets are embroidered with the school name and logo. Dance Shoes: Tap, jazz, ballet & lyrical shoes are available during our fall "Open House" at discounted prices. After our open-house dates, shoes can be ordered..
Your children are our foremost interest.
