For more than 50 years the name Blanchard has been synonymous with quality and integrity in professional roofing. At an early age I was taught that it wasn`t enough to just get the job done. It had to be done right because our reputation depended on it. That was a time when your reputation meant a great deal more than the size of your yellow page ad. As times have changed the value of sound knowledge, quality of workmanship and honesty has only increased. Most homeowners today do not have the time to keep up with and evaluate the vast amount of new building technology nor can they always closely monitor their home improvement projects. That`s where the value of knowledge and integrity pays off with a quality job for the homeowner and a quality reputation for the contractor.
My name is Jim Blanchard. I was born in Scituate, MA where I have lived my entire life. My father was a building and remodeling contractor and I was pretty much raised around the jobsites. I worked in his building business summers and into my mid 20`s. I left to pursue opportunities in larger commercial projects. I worked for various companies and eventually found my way into sales and sales management for a major manufacturer of commercial roofing systems. As was the case with many of my generation I survived two company acquisitions but was turned out on the third one. Subsequently I returned to my roots armed with my earlier experience in residential roofing and construction, and bolstered by years of knowledge gained during my commercial and manufacturer experience. I have seen it from both sides. I have dealt with the very smallest and the very greatest of roofing problems from a leak in the back garage to re-roofing entire manufacturing facilities. To me one is no less important than the other.
When I made my decision to start J. Blanchard & Company it was based on my perception that a company offering a high level of expertise and integrity would do well in my area catering to a clientele whose comfort level exceeds that of a cheap price or a speedy installation. For most a home is their biggest, most important investment.
