Garrick L. Potz, Architecture is a small but diversified residential design practice located in Belmont, Massachusetts which focuses on design excellence and client service.
Prior to forming Garrick L Potz, Architecture in March of 2002, Garrick's professional experience included many aspects of the profession from design to project documentation to project administration. The types of work included commercial, residential, and institutional projects varying in scale from the very small to very large and complex.
A common thread in Garrick's work is the belief in architecture's potential to enrich the lives of those it touches. This optimism is most clearly embodied in attention to context, human scale, and space. The design of public spaces, both interior and exterior, is a direct reflection of a level of commitment to community. The function of public space is to foster personal interaction, from one on one-chance encounters to scheduled assemblies of the community as a whole.
Architecture is a record of the character of a person or institution. In addition to ennobling the human spirit it should communicate modesty, clarity of purpose, honesty and integrity of materials and forms.
