We are Design Partnership of Cambridge. You might know us as DPC or Design Partnership, as the designer of your town's library or school, or as the architects of a new student center or recent project at your university. Or perhaps you know us from watching one of our employees run the Boston Marathon, or from seeing a tired group of us devote a recent cold Saturday to building for Habitat for Humanity. You may be here looking for an interesting place to work; or looking for an architect; or just to spend the lunch break with pictures of beautiful buildings. In any case, please allow us to introduce ourselves.
We are an employee-owned firm of 40 architects, interior designers, technology, and construction experts with a common interest --we are motivated by a desire to collaborate with clients, to capture the essence of the building that they themselves would design if they were architects, and make it real. We think that's the best part of this business, and we've been doing it this way for 25 years now!
Our entire process is built on collaboration. In preliminary meetings with as many stakeholders as are appropriate we learn the issues to be addressed, problems to be solved, and opportunities to be captured.
For the past 25 years, Design Partnership has consistently designed sustainable educational and civic facilities. Prior to the advent of initiatives like LEED, our architects utilized green design as a pragmatic, cost-effective, environmentally conscious practice simply because it made good sense. Our continuing focus on eco-friendly architecture is integrally related to the history and nature of our practice and is an ongoing source of pride.
As technologies become more ubiquitous in our environment, we believe they must play an integrated part in our design process.
With a unique in-house technology design group, our team is dedicated to optimizing technological tools with your available resources. We have expertise in facilities assessment, infrastructure design, and project management, plus good relationships with vendors for procurement and expertise in appropriate overall systems design. Whether the setting is a classroom, science or computer laboratory, library, or administrative office, we design systems that make the best use of current technologies while providing for an infrastructure that can adapt to changing philosophies and future technologies.
