Hands on art for kids

Young Children have the ability to create, interpret and appreciate art. Through art, kids learn how to view their world in different ways; and they learn how to express feelings, confidence and imagination.
Sketch-a-roo is a vibrant, creative environment for making and discovering art.
We will introduce your child to the wonders of art and help them explore their already awakened interest. We will look at and make all types of art.
We will start each class with a short lesson or concept, provide some guidance, quality materials and let their imagination take them on a journey. We emphasize that the PROCESS is just as important as the product they have created. They will succeed every time and be amazed by what they can create. It's like reading or playing sports, it creates a sense of accomplishment and self esteem.
Classes for 2-3 year olds are one hour long. Classes for 4 to 10 year olds are one and a half hours long. Both classes are offered once a week for seven week sessions. There will be something new (or rather old) discussed at each class. All projects are age appropriate for each class. Not only are we providing a foundation for Art appreciation we are providing fun.
After each class, kids will go home with:
-A Project
-Information on concepts, artists,and colors they learned about

Classes
Munchkin Art (2-3 yrs): Parents help awaken their young child's creative side through simple projects using paint, water, glue, clay and other art materials. Yes, it will be messy, but a lot of fun, and you will be creating confidence. $140
Young Artists (4-6): Each week at this drop-off art class the children will be given the chance to explore art history and art styles through hands-on activities. They will be given interesting, quality materials and enough time until they feel their art is complete. Children will discover their own uniqueness in art. $175
Artists in the Making (5-7): Budding artists are introduced to the history and making of art. They will be given the chance to embark on an exciting adventure through the use of color, shapes, lines, value, space, texture, dimension, techniques and more. (This is a drop-off class.) $175
Artists Come Alive (7-10): Artists Come Alive goes beyond the basics of an introduction to the history and making of art. They will expand on their observation skills as they are given bigger challenges to explore their imagination and to test their artistic techniques. They will be given not only the materials but the time to create great works of art.
