Pierce Galleries, Inc.
Est.1968

Incorporated in 1968, over the last 4 decades Pierce Galleries has become one of the most acclaimed art galleries in the US.
Dedicated to scholarship, exceptional service and accurate representation, Pierce Galleries specializes in buying and selling superior quality 19th - 21st century American paintings.
Its inventory commonly includes fine painting examples from the Hudson River School to American Impressionism and Modernism. Pierce Galleries also represents a select group of uniquely talented contemporary artists including Zhen-Huan Lu, Geoffrey Smith, Richard Firth, Jeff Weaver, Francis Green, John Kilroy, Pino, Stephen Renard, Samuel Rose, Roy Thompsen, Francis Golden, Lawrence Kuferman, William Georgenes, and sculptor Kahlil Gibran.
We have been members of The Appraisers Association of America since 1974 and are qualified to appraise American art dating from 1840 to the present for individual, museum, institution, corporation, estate and I.R.S. needs.
Our focus as appraisers, art dealers and historians is not restricted to a concentration on merely the most famous artists, but to have complete knowledge about those who may not be as well known who were (and are) uniquely talented and may deserve recognition.
Providing a complete art service for a worldwide clientele of discerning collectors, museums and corporations, our overhead is kept low so prices can remain reasonable.
Over the past four decades, we have helped build diverse, relevant private, corporate and museum collections of great stature and value.
We have bought and sold thousands of paintings, including exquisite oil and watercolor examples by: Sargent, Tarbell, Benson, DeCamp, Prendergast, Hassam, Chase, Horton, Sloan, Glackens, Griffin, Peterson, Enneking, Durand, Cole, Bierstadt, Inness, Paxton, Rockwell, Parrish, Reid, Twachtman, Dewing, Whistler, Noyes, Hale, Hart, Leavitt, Metcalf, Hoffbauer, Dunning, Goodwin, Homer, Miller, Ryder, Slade, Shapleigh, Shinn, Sonntag, Carleton, Fiske, Woodward, Gammell, Remington, Russell, Stella, Curry, Miro, Diebenkorn and many more.
From late April through early December Pierce Galleries of Nantucket exhibits an extensive selection of original paintings, porcelains, Buddha figures, folk art, sculpture, doorstops, estate jewelry, gemstones, walking sticks and art books to an international clientele.
From its 5 South Water Street downtown location, art exhibitions continuously change and unique antique items from all over the world are bought and sold. Our extensive collection of 19th, 20th, and 21st century paintings, sculpture, and antiques makes Pierce Galleries a destination for centuries of high quality fine art and a stimulating visual experience for collectors and novices alike.
